In the United Kingdom, the self-storage industry has a professional governing body called the Self Storage Association UK. Becoming a full member of the SSA UK takes a lot of work and investment. All members need to meet their high standards of professionalism and security.

We believe that it is really important to be a full Operating Member of the SSA UK. One of the reasons is that it offers our customers a huge level of protection.

We use the SSA UK Standard Storage Agreement.  Trading Standards approved this agreement under their Primary Authority scheme.  This provides legal protection for all parties and an assurance to our customers that the agreement is fair.

The Association have inspected our presmises to make sure they meet the security standards they require.

At the current time, SSA UK have been fantastic about keeping in touch with us and sharing best practice with COVID-19 security. This is to ensure that our premises are as safe as they can be for our customers, visitors and team members.

If you want to read more about why self storage in containers is THE socially distanced self storage solution, take a look here.

If the storage company you choose is a member of SSA UK, you can be assured that their standards are high. Also, you will have someone to turn to if you should end up in a dispute with your storage company. You will see the SSA UK logo on their website and literature if they are members.

If a self-storage company doesn’t think it’s important to meet these standards, you need to ask them why not.
