Just about anything — with some exceptions, of course!
All types of household goods regularly find their way into self-storage containers. These range from bedroom and living room furniture through to fridges, washers and garage contents. So do traders’ tools and stock, motorbikes and bicycles, and even vintage cars.
Among more unusual items are some 5ft high sculptures of hares (they were part of a nature trail), and an extensive collection of retro board games.
Some things are prohibited for health and safety reasons — there’s a full list here. There are also some activities you’re not allowed to carry out in a self-storage container. You can find out more here.
And do remember that when you’re storing washing machines and dishwashers, it’s very important to make sure they’re empty first. Find out more about damp and condensation here.
