How much does self-storage cost?
This is a real ‘it depends’ question! Prices for self-storage vary quite considerably. Factors include the size of unit you want, whereabouts you are, and how long you think you’ll need the unit for.
Self storage can represent fantastic value for money. If you have ever rented storage space such as warehousing or an industrial unit, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper self storage is.
Not all self storage is equal, however! Be aware that some companies advertise low initial prices to lure customers in, but then their prices can rise steeply. If you are intending to rent a unit for more than a few weeks, check how much you will be paying in 3 or 6 months’ time.
When you compare prices, be sure to compare like with like. Look out for hidden costs. Some self-storage companies will charge you extra for your padlock and insurance. Do they charge you extra to access your unit at certain times? Others, such as the Space Program, include all of these things in the cost of your container hire.
